Registered NDIS Providers
To date, there are currently more than four million Australians with disabilities. But with the help of NDIS, Australia’s first national scheme, individuals with disabilities are given the support and funding they need, including their families and their respective careers.
What is NDIS?
The Australian Government is proactive in providing assistance for people with disabilities. And with that, they were able to initiate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that offers support for people with disabilities. NDIS also provides funding and support for individuals aged 65 who have acquired impairment that is already affecting the activities of their daily lives.
To further understand NDIS and what NDIS registered providers do, let us first understand what each letter of the acronym stands for:
- National: NDIS covered across all Melbourne
- Disability: an umbrella term for impairment of body functions or structure, activity limitations; any condition that restricts a person’s sensory, or mobility functions to undertake activities or effectively interact with the world around them.
- Insurance: giving individuals living with disabilities the persistent coverage of support till the end of their life’s journey. A peace of mind knowing that the government cares for their health and well-being.
- Scheme: The NDIS is not a welfare system but a well-thought-through approach, giving participants the assurance of support to assist them in living a fulfilling life.
